Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
MBSR is a programme developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and its history is routed deeply in Buddhist meditation techniques.
By slowing down the mind and focusing one's thoughts, we can develop a powerful toolkit for facing the strains of our modern lives. I offer MBSR training over an 8 week course and hold them at regular intervals.
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
MBCT combines cognitive therapy, with medical practices based on Mindfulness techniques and due to very successful clinical trials (>50% reduction in depression relapse) the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) has recently endorsed MBCT as an effective treatment for relapse prevention of depression and has now become a popular treatment with insurance companies.
It was designed specifically to help people who suffer repeated bouts of depression to help prevent the depression from coming back.
This is a programme I developed and successfully deliver to primary schools to help children gain calmness and focus, assisting and embellishing their learning experience. It proves extremely popular with pupils, parents and staff alike. In September 2014 I was approached by the BBC after having the word spread about my programme. I was filmed in December 2014 during one of my days teaching at Brunswick House Primary School in Kent and the show Inside Out featured us the following spring.
Corporate training is the latest and most powerful method of helping today's busy executives and staff find the time to refocus and find a healthy balance during these ever more hectic lives. Blue chip companies such as Google, Sony and Carlsberg have all given the training to improve personal productivity and professional performance, build better working relationships between colleagues or business partners, and curb stress.
